We are short of Matlab licences, so we are seriously thinking in porting the crocotools code to python (probably paying a
programmer here in Chile, it is hard to transfer money abroad).
Before reinventing the wheel (or or hot water, as is also said here), what has been already done? Any feedback on this is appreciated.

Indeed, we are willing to provide croco_tools in python, as soon as possible…
At the moment, we have added to the croco_tools repository a directory with some croco_tools routines in python developed by Evan Mason:
croco_pytools directory
We are also working at creating a full set of tools in python, but they will probably be available only at the end of the year.
