About this session:
This talk walks through setting up a 3D non-hydrostatic, wave-resolving configuration in CROCO to capture the fine-scale dynamics of the surf zone and inner shelf. It covers the CPP keys and parameters involved: bottom roughness, advection schemes, tracer diffusion, etc. A specific focus will be given to the wavemaker and turbulence closure. Common pitfalls and their fixes will also be discussed.
About the webinar series:
As a reminder, the goal of this initiative is to provide thematic talks about specific modules (e.g., MUSTANG for sediment, biogeochemistry models available) or key features (e.g., non-hydrostatic capabilities with NBQ, nesting with AGRIF, or output handling with XIOS). The philosophy is not only to highlight CROCO’s capabilities but also to openly discuss current limitations and constraints. Each session lasts approximately 45 minutes, including 10–20 minutes for Q&A. Technical prerequisites vary from session to session.
