Hii all.
Anyone there using croco_pytools for preprocessing data? I used croco_pytools for making tide forcing, but got NaN value on tidal current parameter.
is it normal? because my model always blowing up when i’m #define tides. thankyouu

you get same error if you use croco-ocean / croco_tools · GitLab ?
instate of croco-ocean / croco_pytools · GitLab
and your CROCO Version ?
your boundary conditions for tide?
best
hi @smaishal thank you for your responding.
i haven’t tried using croco_tools because i don’t have matlab license. My croco version is 2.0.0.
Im using Cmems data (zos, thetao, so, u and v) for my boundary conditions. I also use tpxo7 for tidal forcing (croco_frc) and ERA5 for bulk forcing.
@sentana
sorry for your confusion. i am not talking about this boundary conditions. i am asking about its open or close boundary for tides, which one/all-open. upload croco.log when its blowup!. which bathymetry data you used for grid making?.
which Vertical Mixing scheme you using.
Remembering similar issues with GLS, try LMD. it will blowing up! or not. take time and let me know.
that’s ok you are not using matlab.
Cheers!

Please try to use the Virtual Machine LiceCROCO to use croco_tools with Octave.
You can download it here
http://mosa.dgeo.udec.cl/LiveCROCO/LiveCROCO_v1.3.0a.ova (16 G !)
and the installation is detailed here
http://mosa.dgeo.udec.cl/LiveCROCO/PDF_Tutorials_English/LiveCROCO_Tutorial_01a_BasicUse.pdf
This is the tutorial for tides
http://mosa.dgeo.udec.cl/LiveCROCO/PDF_Tutorials_English/LiveCROCO_Tutorial_04_Tides.pdf
You could use it to create the FRC file with tides for your domain and then export that file to another machine and run all there.
@sentana
Your TPX are the same is it?. check. ncdump -h TPXO7.nc
netcdf TPXO7 {
dimensions:
lon_r = 1440 ;
lat_r = 721 ;
lon_u = 1440 ;
lat_u = 721 ;
lon_v = 1440 ;
lat_v = 721 ;
periods = 10 ;
Hii @smaishal, sorry for my late reply. I think my TPXO7 is different from yours. there’s no lon_v and lat_u.
I’ve tried to make tide forcing using matlab, but i got high value of tidal current (i think its not normal on my area model).

Sentana
Hii andres
I can’t open LiveCROCO_Tutorial_04_Tides link, could you send it via email?
sentana.saputra@mhs.unsoed.ac.id. Thankyouu

Hi @sentana
Have a fine good morning.
find the TPXO7 in mail, due to i not able to upload .nc file here.
and your second problem coastline
m_map1.4f is present in croco_tools. i hope yes. or coronary to that.
please let me know is you issues is resolved or not.
Thank you. Have a good day!
Cheers!

hii @subhadeep
thankyou for giving me TPXO7 file, I’ll try and contact you for the results.

Sentana
